8-Battery Sequential Charging with UB5PRO
Expand the U5+ for multi-battery UAV operations with UB5PRO. One UB5PRO can be connected to each of the charger’s two independent channels, and each UB5PRO can connect up to four batteries — allowing up to eight batteries to be connected to the complete charging system.
The connected batteries are charged sequentially rather than simultaneously. UB5PRO manages the charging order automatically, giving priority to the battery with the higher voltage before moving to the next battery.
· One for each U5+ channel
· Up to 8 batteries connected
· Higher-voltage battery first
Smart UAV Battery Communication
U5+ can communicate with compatible smart UAV battery BMS systems to read battery information and support automatic charging workflows. Communication configuration can be matched to different UAV battery systems.
Battery Interfaces and Balance Port Pinout
U5+ uses an AS150U main charging connector and MX3.0 balance connector for compatible 6S–14S UAV batteries. The connector definitions below are shown from the charger side to help battery manufacturers and UAV integrators confirm wiring and compatibility.
AS150U Charging Connector
U5+ is equipped with AS150U main charging connectors on both independent charging channels for connection to compatible UAV battery systems.
Connector type alone does not determine battery compatibility. Confirm battery voltage range, connector wiring and, for smart UAV batteries, the required BMS communication configuration before use.
MX3.0 Balance Port Pinout
U5+ uses an MX3.0 balance connector for supported 6S–14S UAV battery systems. The pinout below is shown from the front of the charger-side connector.
Verify the AS150U charging connector and MX3.0 balance-port pinout before connecting a battery. If your battery interface differs from the definition above, please confirm compatibility with EV-PEAK before use.

30A × 2 indicates the maximum charging-current capability of the two independent channels. Actual available current is also limited by the charger’s total output-power capability and battery voltage.
U5+ UAV Battery Charger FAQ
Key technical information about U5+ battery compatibility, charging current, smart battery communication and UB5PRO multi-battery operation.
1. What batteries are compatible with the EV-PEAK U5+?
U5+ supports 6S–14S LiPo, LiHV and compatible smart UAV batteries. Standard LiPo and LiHV batteries can be recognized by cell count and voltage, while compatible smart batteries can provide battery information through BMS communication. Battery compatibility should also be confirmed based on connector wiring and communication configuration.
2. Can both U5+ channels charge batteries at the same time?
Yes. U5+ has two fully independent charging channels, allowing two UAV batteries to be charged at the same time. Each channel supports up to 30A charging current, subject to the charger’s total output power and battery voltage.
3. What is the maximum charging power and current of U5+?
U5+ provides up to 3000W total output power on AC 220V input. Each of its two independent channels supports up to 30A charging current. Actual available charging current depends on battery voltage and the charger’s total output-power limit.
4. What happens when U5+ is used on AC 110V?
On AC 110V input, the available total output power is approximately half of the AC 220V rating, or about 1500W. Actual charging current will therefore depend on the connected battery voltage and total available power.
5. What charging modes does U5+ provide?
U5+ provides three charging modes: FAST at 30A, NORMAL at 20A and SLOW at 10A. This allows the operator to select different charging-current levels according to the battery and operating requirement.
6. Does U5+ start charging automatically?
Yes. After a battery is connected, U5+ automatically recognizes the battery information, enters a countdown and then starts charging automatically. For standard LiPo and LiHV batteries, the charger recognizes cell count and voltage. Compatible smart UAV batteries can provide information through BMS communication.
7. What communication protocols are available for smart UAV batteries? Answer:
UAVCAN is the default smart-battery communication configuration. DroneCAN is available as a configurable option, and RS485 can be provided as a custom option for specific battery or BMS integration requirements.
8. What charging and balance connectors does U5+ use?
U5+ uses an AS150U main charging connector and an MX3.0 balance connector for compatible 6S–14S UAV batteries. Connector type alone does not guarantee compatibility, so battery wiring, pinout and smart-battery communication requirements should be confirmed before integration.
9. Can U5+ charge 8 batteries simultaneously?
No. U5+ itself has two independent charging channels and can charge two batteries simultaneously. When two UB5PRO units are connected — one to each U5+ channel — up to eight batteries can be connected to the complete system for sequential charging. UB5PRO gives priority to the higher-voltage battery before moving to the next battery.
10. What protection functions does U5+ provide?
U5+ includes over-charge, over-voltage, over-current, reverse-polarity, short-circuit and over-temperature protection for charging and discharging operation.
