Key technical and application questions about the EV-PEAK UD2 3000W 50A dual-channel UAV battery charger.
1.What batteries does the EV-PEAK UD2 support?
UD2 supports 14S–20S LiPo, LiHV and compatible smart UAV batteries. It is particularly suited to 18S high-capacity battery systems used in large agricultural, heavy-lift and cargo UAVs.
2.Is the UD2 suitable for 18S UAV batteries?
Yes. Although UD2 supports a wider 14S–20S battery range, it is especially well suited to 18S high-capacity UAV batteries used in large agricultural drones, heavy-lift UAVs and cargo or transport platforms.
3.Can the UD2 charge two UAV batteries at the same time?
Yes. UD2 has two charging channels and can connect and charge two UAV batteries simultaneously. Maximum total output is up to 3000W at AC 220V.
4.What is the maximum charging current of the UD2?
UD2 provides a maximum charging current setting of 50A. The three selectable charging modes are FAST at 50A, NORMAL at 30A and SLOW at 15A.
5.How does AC 110V input affect the charging power?
At AC 220V input, UD2 provides up to 3000W total output. At AC 110V input, the available maximum output power is approximately half of the AC 220V maximum.
6.How long does it take to charge an 18S 30000mAh UAV battery?
Under AC 220V input, using FAST mode at 50A and an ambient temperature of 25°C, an 18S 30000mAh UAV battery charged from approximately 30% to 100% SOC in around 28 minutes. Actual charging time may vary depending on battery condition and operating conditions.
7. Does the UD2 automatically recognize and start charging the battery?
Yes. After a compatible battery is connected, UD2 automatically recognizes the battery, enters a countdown and then starts charging automatically without requiring a manual Start command.
8. What smart battery communication protocols are available?
UAVCAN is the default communication protocol on UD2. DroneCAN can be configured according to battery system requirements, while RS485 is available as a custom communication option.
9. What is the wireless charging function on the UD2 used for?
UD2 includes a built-in wireless charging area for compatible smartphones and other electronic devices. At present, UAV batteries generally do not integrate wireless charging capability, so drone batteries are normally charged through their dedicated battery connectors.
10. What protection functions are built into the UD2?
UD2 includes over-charge, over-voltage, over-current, reverse polarity, short-circuit and over-temperature protection for UAV battery charging.
